Spring Cleaning Challenge Week 5 - Bedroom Week

Our second last week in 'Our Organised Hive's' Spring Cleaning Challenge is Bedroom Week. This is a massive one, especially if you have a few bedrooms, so you could focus on 1 room per day, or focus on set tasks in each room. I chose to follow the tasks Lauren from 'Our Organised Hive' put up on her facebook page (click on the link to check it out!) which were set tasks in each room.

Day 1 tasks:
Declutter and tidy all bedrooms. This includes: toys, books, bookshelves, bedside tables, desks. Use tubs or boxes to chuck items away, or donate to a charity shop, or relocate to another room. Remember, the less stuff you have, the less you have to declutter, and the less mess you will end up with!

Day 2 tasks:
 - Kids wardrobes: declutter clothes, socks, underwear and shoes. Donate things kids no longer wear, or haven't worn in more than 6 months, and chuck anything which is beyond repair.
 - Remove everything from the wardrobe and clean, vacuum and wipe inside, and place things back in, grouping like items together and using baskets to keep tidy.

Day 3 tasks:
 - Master bedroom wardrobe or walk-in: declutter clothes, socks, underwear and shoes. Chuck or donate what you haven't worn or items that are too small or too large.
 - Remove everything from the wardrobe and clean, vacuum and wipe inside, and place things back in, grouping like items together and using baskets to keep tidy.

Day 4 tasks:
 - Declutter underneath beds
 - Remove cobwebs
 - Dust skirtings, light fixtures, fans and vents
 - Wash sheets, doonas, quilts, throw rugs, cushions and pillow cases
 - Vacuum and flip mattresses
 - Vacuum under beds

Day 5 tasks:
 - Declutter hair ties, ribbons, clips
 - Clean windows and window sills
 - Dust blinds or wash curtains
 - Remove everything from bookshelves, desks, bedside tables and any other cupboard (besides clothes cupboards) in the room, clean, donate, chuck & relocate, and place items back in neatly, grouping like items together

Day 6 tasks:
 - Wipe down walls, doors, light switches & powerpoints
 - Vacuum floor (and mop if not carpet)
 - Spot clean carpet and rugs

Day 7 tasks:
 - Catch-up day, ready for playroom & garage next week! I also have a sunroom, so I'll be doing that as well!
